About Salt Air Farm
Salt Air Farm is a family operated cut flower farm. When you visit our farm you will be visiting both our business and our home. We ask that you be respectful of our grounds and privacy.
Important Information:
Please do not arrive for photos without an appointment.
When you arrive park in the area just outside the fence in front of the hydrangeas. There is a sign that says: “Park Here.”
If you arrive before your photographer be assured he/she will be along shortly and will meet you right there in the parking area.
Salt Air Farm opens its grounds for photo shoots to one/two couple(s) at a time. Most folks are looking to have their photos captured during the “golden hour” just after sunrise or before sunset. For obvious reasons the sunset time is by far the most popular. Should you book a time slot and then need to change your plans for any reason please contact us immediately so we can open your time slot to another couple.
Fee
A standard photo shoot for one couple with photographer costs $150. Please do not bring additional family/friends to your appointment unless prearranged. Doing so will incur an additional fee. Family shoots are priced on a case-by-case basis and determined by age and number of family members.
Family dogs are welcome with pre-approval. There is a $50. per dog additional charge. All dogs visiting our farm must remain on a leash at all times. Each dog must be accompanied by a “handler” who is responsible for dog behavior and clean-up.
Payment
Payment is due at time of arrival. Payment is made by cash.
Please be aware that we do not accept electronic payment of any kind.
If the weather is poor on your photo shoot day please talk first with your photographer and then with us at Salt Air Farm. We are happy to assist you in either canceling or rescheduling your shoot due to weather. You can call or text us at 631-235-8195. Cancelled shoots are not penalized but please be in communication about your plans.
Facilities
All photo shoots take place out on our farm. There are no indoor facilities so please arrive dressed and ready to go. Access to bathrooms is limited to a single port-a-pottie for emergency use only.
Props
Lots of folks ask if they can use our swing. The answer is: yes. Use of props such as antique cars, trucks, Victorian sofas, etc. are welcome but are your responsibility. Please let us know ahead if you plan to bring in props. An additional fee may, or may not, be involved, depending on what you have in mind. Regardless, there is no driving on the grounds without permission and supervision.
We ask that no florals be brought with you to the farm. We are, after all, a cut flower farm and would be happy to meet whatever needs you may have along these lines. If you would like a basket of flowers to be part of your photo shoot just let us know ahead. We will pick and arrange a basket for you that you may take home following the shoot. The cost of an arranged basket of flowers is $50. Floral crowns cost $125 each.
If you want a seasonal floral garden arch for use with your photo shoot we are happy to accommodate that request as well. Be aware that garden arches take some planning and prep. Please make this request at least 2 weeks ahead. Cost for a garden arch is $400.
Doves
There is no additional charge to have our white doves appear in your photos. Our birds are almost always out and flying at the time of shoots. Incorporating them into photos is easy for most photographers.
Like all other buildings on the farm our dove loft is closed. Please do not enter the dove loft unassisted.
If you would like to hand feed the birds please ask for help. As long as we don’t have another time sensitive farm obligation at the time of your photo shoot we are happy to comply.
